POSITION SUMMARY/CLASS DESCRIPTION

County instructional sports programs are offered for youth sports participants. Activities include a variety of sports and games.
 
RATE OF PAY:        Contingent - Salary commensurate with experience:

 Sports Instructor I:    Minimum Wage (Paraprofessional)
 Sports Instructor II:   $16 -18/hour (Paraprofessional)                  
 Sports Instructor III:  $18 - $21/hour (Professional)
 Sports Instructor IV:  $21 - $32/hour (Professional)      

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Background in Recreation or Physical Education.

Instructor I:       Background in coaching sports skills or leading children’s activities, history of participation in specific sport. Meets Coaches Registry requirements.
Instructor II:      Have or obtain CPR and First Aid certification within six months of employment (except camps – required prior to first day).  
Instructor III:    Relevant specialized experience and/or holds a certification in their respective sport.
Instructor IV:    Has five years of experience (Club/ High School/ College/ Professional) or other significant credentials (High School and/or College Playing Awards/ Established Professional Athletes)
