Job Summary

The OPS Assistant Women's Basketball Coach will assist the Head Coach in the administration of all aspects of the sport program including coaching, recruiting, contest scheduling, supervising support sports staff, budget management, student athlete mentoring, and ensuring program compliance meets NCAA, conference, and University rules and regulations.

Job Description

Typical duties include but are not limited to:


• Contribute to the recruitment and ongoing engagement of student-athletes.
• Participate in practice sessions, providing instruction on individual and group skills and techniques.
• Aid in developing game strategies and assigning positions to optimize team performance.
• Assist in organizing travel logistics for team events.
• Help with the inventory, distribution, and management of athletic equipment and uniforms.
• Support the development and execution of academic action plans as needed.
• Monitor and enforce discipline and conduct standards to enhance the program's image and reputation.
• Assist with the review and management of player film and video analysis.
• Adhere to University, ASUN Conference, and NCAA regulations, staying updated on changes and self-reporting potential violations.

Required Qualifications

• This position requires either four years of directly related full-time experience or, as an alternative, a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate are of specialization.
• Current CPR/AED certification or ability to obtain within two months of employment.

• Valid driver’s license and the ability to travel throughout the country.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience at the NCAA Division I level.
• Experience with effective leadership, communication, coaching, and recruiting skills.
