Description

The Assistant Men's Wrestling Coach- 1st Assistant is responsible for all phases of developing and maintaining a successful Men's Wrestling Program at the College through their support of the Head Men's Wrestling Coach.  This is a part-time seasonal position.
 

*This position coaches the Gloucester Campus Roadrunners*

Examples of Duties

  1. Recruitment of potential student-athletes
  2. Practice preparation
  3. In and out-of season training
  4. Game/match day management
  5. Retention of quality student-athletes
  6. Ensure the success and safety of student athletes on and off the field
  7. Monitors team members' academic progress and performance and makes referrals to the appropriate College departments to enhance student's academic success.
  8. Safe transportation of team members to and from away contests
  9. Adherence to all NJCAA, Region 19, RCSJ and Athletic Department rules and regulations
  10. Assist the Head Coach with fundraising and development of alumni and community relations
  11. Ability to be a team player within the Athletics Department and the College
  12. Other duties as assigned by the Head Coach and Executive Director of Athletics

Minimum Qualifications

  • Past playing and/or coaching experience in the sport of wrestling is required
  • College degree preferred
  • Valid driver's license in good standing required
  • Possess the ability to work well and communicate effectively with prospective and current students, staff, faculty, administration, and colleagues and community partners
  • Demonstrated cultural competence, sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty, and staff and a commitment to a student-centered environment
