    Orting High School, a member of the 2A SPSL, is committed to providing excellence in all of its co-curricular programs. The Orting School District is seeking applicants for the position of Assistant Fastpitch Coach at Orting High School.
    REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

     
    1. Experience preferred in coaching/participating in fastpitch
    2. Knowledge of fastpitch techniques and strategies
    3. Be able to meet all W.I.A.A. requirements for the Washington State Coaching Standards
    4. Ability to communicate positively and effectively with students, parents, staff and community member
    5. Effective written and oral communication skills
    6. Strong organizational skills necessary to support running a solid high school program 
    7. Successful experience working with teenage athletes
    8. Ability to motivate teens to reach their highest potential academically through sportsmanship

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
    1. Be high school graduate or have completed a graduation equivalency diploma (GED) program
    2. Be at least 19 years of age to be an assistant coach
    3. Current first aid and CPR training (from an approved OSD provider to include return demonstration) or the ability to obtain
    4. Flexible Schedule
    5. Must be available immediately after school - 2:15 pm

    Work Start:    High school dismissal is 2:15PM, M-Th and 12:45PM on F

    BENEFITS:
    For coaching positions, eligibility for benefits is determined by a number of factors, including the number of hours an employee worked during the last two (2) school years (September 1 through August 31). Coaching positions may not be benefit eligible. Benefits are administered through the Payroll Department. Additional information is available on their district web page.     Regular employees who are also in coaching position(s) and are anticipated to work 630 hours or more in a year are eligible for the following benefits: medical, dental, vision, retirement, life insurance, long-term disability and the employee assistance program.
     
    The district's healthcare benefits are administered by the Washington State Healthcare Authority (HCA) under the School Employees Benefits Board (SEBB). Benefit eligible employees also qualify to optionally participate in deferred compensation/403B plans, dependent care flexible spending/health savings accounts, and additional life insurance and/or added long-term disability coverage through employee contributions.  Sick leave, vacation, personal leave, and any paid holidays are aligned with bargaining agreements by association, as listed on our website.
     
    Other benefits include VEBA, which is a Health Reimbursement Account (HRA) and serves as a way to contribute dollars on a pre-tax basis for out of pocket benefits costs, whether it be for medical, dental or vision premiums, or any other out of pocket medical expenses. This benefit is available, based on the outcome of annual voting of employees by group.
